Specifications include, but are not limited to: General – Consultant will provide one-on-one advising to small and mid-size businesses who need assistance with developing and implementing processes and procedures to secure the safety of their business information. The cyber security knowledge level of the clients the selected Consultant(s) will be interacting with may range from having little to no knowledge of the required protocols to an advanced level of understanding. Process for One-on-One Advising Step 1 – The Cyber Center’s Program Manager will identify clients from their pool of APEX Accelerator, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and Contractor Resource Center (CRC ) clients that are interested in obtaining federal, state, local government contracts including large industry. Step 2 - The program manager will identify their client’s goals and will meet with the client to review and assess, at a minimum, their cyber security hygiene, information systems, and existing documented policies and procedures against the protocols listed in the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 or Level 2. This may include assisting clients in the early stages of their business to build policies and procedures. The program manager will define next steps and timelines for the client in a project action agreement. Step 3 – Once technical advice is needed that is beyond the expertise of the program manager, the program manager will refer the client to the selected Consultant.
