Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful Proposer(s) will prepare and submit a comprehensive analysis of the research capacity within TTUS with an emphasis on strategic recommendations for enhancing TTUS component institution’s efforts as nationally competitive public research universities. Each TTUS component institution will provide all required information to the successful Proposer(s) to complete the required deliverables. The following information must be included in the comprehensive analysis: (1) An examination of TTU’s past and current strategic plan for research growth to determine the effectiveness of past efforts and resources and assess the extent to which current strategic research initiatives align with the intended goals for growth. (2) Analysis of TTU’s current allocation of available state, federal, and industry research funding and how that compares to other nationally recognized public research universities of similar size and structure. This should include proposals for increasing the allocation of underutilized available funds (3) Analysis of data from all TTUS component institutions to determine each institution’s current research activity, the capacity for research growth, and recommendations for targeted areas of research for each institution. This data will seek to understand the breadth and depth of research activity across TTUS and provide a baseline to inform opportunities for potential collaboration and partnership across component institutions. (4) Examination of the academic and facility infrastructure that is needed for TTU to be a nationally competitive public research university. This will include exploration of the need for the appropriate academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, faculty training, core labs, and other resources and support services that are necessary for significant research growth. (5) Delineate the current barriers for increasing collaborative research activities across TTUS with an emphasis on the barriers between TTU and the health sciences universities. Provide Proposals for overcoming those barriers.
