The adoption of TRWD's Recreation Master Plan establishes a vision for a safe interconnected system of trails, parks, and natural spaces along the banks of Trinity River, shores of the Tarrant County lakes, and other areas controlled by TRWD. It is the District’s intent to have the selected firm create a master plan for signage and pavement markings in accordance with AASHTO, TMUTCD, or other determined regulatory standards that should be incorporated throughout the trail system to improve user safety. The objectives of the Master Plan process include: • Establish a plan for center lane stripes, textural surface changes along with signs indicating hazards, rules and etiquette. • Provide consistent messaging and uniform experience along the trails. • Providing short, intermediate, and long-range management and development plans for trails safety. • Establishing priorities and recommendations of phased approaches for updating all trails to District standard widths. • Develop an implementation plan, along with a prioritized project list that includes timelines and responsibilities. • Prepare an asset management plan, including inspection and assessment components, to maximize the useful life of the trail safety signage and striping...
