1. Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the search process as directed by the Board. 2. Provide consultation services to District staff on an as-needed basis 7:30 am through 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday on District business days, and as needed at schedules or called Board committee meetings, including committee of the whole and other meetings. 3. Conduct all aspects of the recruitment process as directed by the Board including but not limited to all the items listed on Bid Attribute #19, Objectives. 4. Must be available to travel to El Paso, TX to attend in person meetings with the Board, as deemed necessary. 5. Meet with the Board and with individual Board members to assess Board priorities, goals, and objectives to assist the Board in determining and articulating criteria and qualifications necessary for selecting a Superintendent of Schools. 6. Work with staff and the Board to develop a plan and timeline for the search that includes community involvement while balancing the need for confidentiality of applicants. 7. If the Board desires, assist in the development and implementation of a plan to provide for and facilitate community input and engagement regarding desired Superintendent skills, characteristics, and qualifications. Such a plan my include focus groups, surveys, and large community meetings, including various District stakeholders, parents, parent organizations, employees, the business community, District partners, key elected officials, and senior District staff that commit to not apply to fill the position. 8. Review position requirements and interview, survey and conduct focus groups to solicit opinions from Board members to help define the leadership attributes and leadership profile needed in a Superintendent of Schools to include reviewing job descriptions and qualifications. 9. Advertise locally, regionally, statewide, and/or nationally to recruit qualified internal and external candidates. 10. Prepare and distribute materials (e.g., leadership profile, survey results) as necessary to advertise position. 11. Screen all applications using criteria to be developed with the Board and provide summary of all candidates to the Board. 12. Conduct comprehensive background checks and interviews of qualified applicants and include the results as part of the information provided to the Board for those recommended for consideration by the Board. 13. Assist the Board with methods to evaluate and rank the qualified applicants in accordance with criteria developed in collaboration with the Board, as per Board policy. 14. Coordinate and facilitate the interview process. 15. Assist in arranging visits to final applicants' current work sites by Board members if determined to be necessary. 16. Assist the Board in developing an appropriate compensation package for the Superintendent that facilitates a successful recruitment effort. 17. Prepare reports and recommendations to the Board, as requested at intervals established by the Board or Board designee. 18. Provide any other assistance to the Board as necessary to facilitate a final selection to be determined by the Board. 19. Pricing proposal (in Line Item section) shall be a firm fixed price to include a schedule and the amount or rate of compensation desired for the services outlined in your proposal. Identify all items in the compensation schedule.
