The Houston Public Library needs a subscription to a 12-month subscription to an interactive online database that teaches students in grades 3-12 and adults how to code on various commonly used coding languages using a gamification method in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions specified in this solicitation. The following are the minimum acceptable specifications: The platform should offer a system for customers to be able to learn the following coding languages: Python and JavaScript The platform should make use of an independent learning platform that integrates the ability for learners to immerse themselves into a character as part of a game while learning The platform should ensure that by the end of the learning module for each coding language, the learner has reached an intermediate coding level Interface that is easy to navigate Interface available in English, Spanish Chinese, Vietnamese, and other world languages Ability to authenticate customers to ensure they are valid Houston Public Library cardholders using an established library-industry authentication method Provide for up to 500 simultaneous users monthly both in-library and remotely, limited to Houston Public Library’s authenticated cardholders Customer support available to troubleshoot issues with the service Ability to provide usage statistics to include daily, weekly, monthly, and annual breakdowns, preferably accessible by library staff Ability to provide the library with robust marketing tools to promote the service to customers Proven ability to meet customer needs for a large urban library 12-month subscription term for service Ability to register as a vendor with the City of Houston Ability to start service October 6, 2024
