The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Contractor to (i) provide expert consulting services to assist the Commission in the development of standards for the structural integrity of transmission and distribution poles in accordance with newly enacted Texas Utilities Code § 38.006; (ii) review and analyze distribution pole plans and updates and transmission and distribution structural integrity standards reports filed by electric utilities, municipally owned utilities, and electric cooperatives (utilities) in compliance with House Bill 144 (89th R.S.) and Senate Bill 1789 (89th R.S.) and agency rules; and (iii) provide recommendations to the Commission regarding utilities’ compliance with the submitted plans, updates, and reports.
