The restoration of 23 Historic windows at building 42 (northside & southside of building) 5.1a. Remove window assemblies and seal window openings with plywood. 5.1b. Repair/replace sashes (upper & lower) to the extent possible – when replacing wood use wood species that matches historic wood if possible – repairing strip, sand, prime, paint & glaze to repair, treat with wood preservative as appropriate 5.1c. Repair/replace muntins – when replacing wood use wood species that matches historic wood if possible – repairing strip, sand, prime, paint & glaze to repair, treat with wood preservative as appropriate 5.1d. Glass will be thoroughly cleaned prior to re-installation into the sash with glazing putty. Glazing putty will be painted & sealed. 5.1e. Repair/replace Jambs /Sills to the extent possible – when replacing wood use wood species that matches historic wood if possible – repairing strip, sand, prime, paint & glaze to repair, treat with wood preservative as appropriate 5.1f. Paint (with primer in it) or prime and paint with Sherwin Williams 7004 Snowbound, or a color-matched, performance equivalent paint. 5.1g. All window hardware will be re-used 5.1h. Stop will be re-used or replaced 5.1i. All windows will be fixed in place 5.1j. Any left-over hardware will be returned to owner (Project POC).
