1. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION The following performance specifications are necessary for the variety of missions conducted in TXDPS helicopters. a. Useful load of at least 2,500 lbs b. Maximum cruise speed of at least 130 kts at Max Gross c. Must have at minimum a 3 hour endurance at loiter speed of 60 kts d. Must have a max range at long range cruise speed of 330 nmi at Max Gross 2. ENGINE The helicopter shall be equipped with the latest production version of a gas turbine engine capable of: a. Takeoff power of at least 850 shaft horsepower: b. The engine shall be capable of operation using Jet A, Jet B, or JP4 fuel. c. Must have an engine-driven fuel pump and at least two (2) fuel boost pumps d. The engine shall be equipped with a dual channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system. e. Oil system with a sight glass f. Engine Compressor wash provisions installed g. Inlet Barrier Filter with Access Door - Wet h. Engine Fire Detector i. Increased Starter Generator j. Quiet Cruise 3. COCKPIT/CABIN a. The cabin/cockpit will be equipped with seating for the pilot, copilot, and not less than four passengers. b. The interior shall be of Federal Aviation Administration approved fabric on all seats and back cushions with utility floor covering. c. The cabin must be heated by a non-combustion type heater (Bleed air allowed). d. All passenger and / or crew doors, baggage doors, and fuel caps shall be equipped with exterior key operated locks. e. The cockpit shall be equipped with a Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible Vehicle and Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD). f. The cockpit shall be equipped with warning lights for low engine oil pressure, generator failure, impending fuel filter by-pass, high transmission oil temperature, low transmission oil pressure, hydraulic systems failure, fuel pressure, and low fuel level. g. Magnetic chip detectors and associated cockpit warning indicators shall be supplied for the transmission, tail rotor gearbox, and engine. h. Dual Flight Controls i. Standard Headliner with AC ducting o. Bubble skylight windows – Dark tint p. Quick Removable door pins on front and aft doors q. High visibility doors, crew and cabin 4. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM a. An aircraft type 28-volt direct current (DC) system shall be installed with sufficient capacity to continually and safely operate all equipment specified herein. b. 28 Amp-Hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery c. A standard aircraft type external power receptacle and associated wiring and hardware shall be installed to provide electrical power for ground operation of electrical equipment and to provide for starts using ground power units and / or battery carts. d. The electrical system shall be capable of handling electrical loads associated with the simultaneous operation of the installed equipment. 5. AIRFRAME EQUIPMENT a. Basic Aircraft: The basic aircraft, as delivered from the manufacturer (prior to completion), shall be a new Bell 407 GXi and equipped as follows: i. Standard rear passenger doors ii.
