Background: Purchase is requested to ensure continued service maintenance of existing equipment necessary to provide patient testing and peak performance by preventing any unnecessary downtime of equipment. This purchase is also necessary to avoid useless spending of government funds by reducing the chances of expensive service calls. Furthermore, this contract is required to validate and maintain equipment per CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988) and CAP (College of American Pathologists) requirements. • Equipment: The Equipment covered by this Agreement is set forth below: o Becton Dickinson (BD) BACTEC Mycobacterium Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) 960 automated mycobacterial detection systems with the following serial numbers: MG7017 MG7029 MG7013 MG7298 MG7015 • Service: service must be equivalent to the manufacturer’s Comprehensive 5-day service plan. o Service engineers must be trained to service and repair Becton Dickinson equipment that is specified above. At the time a bid is submitted, respondents must provide training certificates and summaries of experience for individuals who will be performing service/maintenance on equipment. o Unlimited online/phone technical support, 8:00am – 5:00pm Central time or normal business hours - excluding weekends and holidays. o Vendor must directly perform service/maintenance. Due to the critical public health nature of this equipment, subcontracting is not allowed
