General Description: Banding trees with marking paint within the specified unit boundaries to achieve a
desired basal area on 499 acres.
Project Location: Angelina National Forest.
The project area is located on the Angelina National Forest. The treatment area is North of Sam Rayburn
Reservoir in Shelby County. The North part of the project area borders State Highway 103, the East side
borders FM 147 and the West side borders FM 1277. The project area consists of compartments 11, 13 and 14
with 16 pine plantations totaling approximately 499 acres. (See the project maps for exact locations in
Attachment A).
The treatment area encompasses approximately 499 acres of pine plantations that have been laid out and the
boundary trees have been marked on the ground with 3 diagonal stripes and a spot at ground level in orange
paint.
