Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Liberty Blue™ with HT- 12 System should be an automated microwave peptide synthesizer designed for Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis. It should be automatically prepare up to 12 peptides sequentially over a scale range of 0.025-0.5 mmol. The system should be capable of an automated synthesis of a single peptide for scales of 0.005-0.01 and 1.0-5.0 mmol. The Liberty Blue™ should consists of a microwave, liquid handling, 12 position resin handling and waste handling modules. The microwave module should be a single mode microwave reactor whose power output, 0-300 watts, should be regulated in 1-watt increments by fiber-optic temperature feedback control. The liquid handling module contains 20 ports for proteinogenic amino acids, 7 additional unusual amino acid ports, and 4 external ports for other reagents. All reagent movements should be controlled by nitrogen pressure. The resin handling module should store up to 12 different resins (along with corresponding peptide sequence) for transfer to and from the Liberty Blue reaction vessel.
