Specifications include, but are not limited to: •Reads, understands, and follows applicable provisions of HCHA's Employee Handbook, including, but not limited to, the HCHA Weapons Policy. Under the HCHA Weapons Policy, the CEO may designate up to two employees to carry concealed handguns on HCHA premises. Currently, the CEO has designated Horace Allison to carry a concealed weapon on HCHA premises. No other HCHA employee may carry' an open or concealed weapon on HCHA premises. If the Security Officer sees or suspects that an unauthorized employee is carrying an open or concealed weapon on HCHA premises, the Security Officer is to contact the CEO, Director of Administration, General Counsel, or other Executive staff member immediately. •Understands Texas open and concealed carry laws, and how to apply them to the Security Post in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for HCHA customers and employees. •Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting access points, and authorizing entry. •Prevents disruptions of services and property damage by reporting observed irregularities, informing visitors of security and access policies and procedures, and responding to unruly behavior.
