1. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION The following performance specifications are necessary for the variety of missions conducted in TXDPS helicopters. a. Range: The helicopter (as equipped at basic price) must have a maximum range of not less than 340 nautical miles b. Speeds: The helicopter (as equipped at basic price) Vne (never exceed speed) may not be less than 155 knots indicated air speed at sea level. The helicopter (as equipped at basic price) high speed cruise, at maximum internal gross weight at sea level, standard conditions, may not be less than 130 knots indicated air speed. c. Weight: For purposes of this subparagraph, weight is based on a standard equipped helicopter. The internal useful load of the helicopter may not be less than 2,300 pounds. 2. ENGINE The helicopter shall be equipped with the latest production version of a gas turbine engine capable of: a. Takeoff power of at least 850 shaft horsepower: b. The scheduled overhaul cycle of this engine may not be less than 5,000 hours and must not include any scheduled hot section inspection, which requires engine disassembly or replacement of turbine wheels, under normal conditions, prior to the 5,000 hour overhaul cycle. c. The engine shall be capable of operation using Jet A, Jet B, or JP4 fuel. d. The engine shall be equipped with a dual channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system.
