Concrete Sand (Fine Aggregate): Clean, hard, durable particles of natural, manufactured sand, recycled crushed hydraulic cement concrete, slag, lightweight aggregate, or a combination thereof. Provide fine aggregate free from frozen material and from injurious amounts of salt, alkali, vegetable matter, or other objectionable material. 4.5. Substitution(s): Any catalog number, brand name or manufacturer’s reference used is considered to be descriptive not restrictive, and is indicative of the type and quality the County desires to purchase. Bids on similar items of like quality shall be considered if the bid is properly noted and a full description is enclosed. If a notation of substitution is not made, it is assumed that the vendor is bidding the item specified. 4.6. Equipment: Vendor shall provide machinery, tools, and equipment necessary for proper execution of pick-up orders, to be loaded on McLennan County truck(s) and/or trailer(s) and/or delivered orders. 4.7. Testing: If the materials and loading thereof, are inspected by a commercial testing laboratory, the same will be designated by, and at the expense of the County. 4.8. Rejection of Material: McLennan County reserves the right to reject material that, in the County’s opinion, contains excessive fines, dust, clay-like particles or other deleterious material. 4.9. Delivery/Pick-Up (loading) a. Loading and/or delivery of materials will be only “as needed”. b. An approximate twelve (12) hour advanced notice may be given, prior to an order pick-up or delivery. c. Delivery may be required to any point within McLennan County.
