Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Offer a system for library customers to access the digital edition of the current daily New York Times newspaper and the digitized historical issues of the New York Times newspaper (1851- present) • Content must be accessible both inside library locations and remotely, via both Internet browsers and a dedicated app • Recent daily issues available in English, Spanish, and Chinese • Interfaces that are easy to navigate • Ability to authenticate customers to ensure they are valid Houston Public Library cardholders using an established library-industry authentication method • Provide unlimited, simultaneous use by Houston Public Library’s authenticated cardholders, both in-library and remotely • Ability to provide usage statistics to include daily, weekly, monthly and annual breakdowns, preferably accessible by library staff • Proven ability to meet library customer needs • 12-month subscription term for service • Ability to register as a vendor with the City of Houston • Ability to start service by October 1, 2023
