Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Commission is soliciting proposals for the Adobe Walls/Terlingua/ Study Butte AML Sites – Mine Closure Project. The work is located at Three (3) different locations in Brewster County, Texas. The primary objective of the Commission in awarding any resulting contract is for mine opening closures at the Adobe Walls, Terlingua and Study Butte AML sites. The work is located at three different locations in Brewster County, Texas. The Adobe Walls and Study Butte sites are off of State Highway 118 and the Terlingua site is off of State Highway 170 (Reference Certifications/Figures - Figures 1 - 4). These mine sites are located in a very remote and rugged area requiring special attention to access procedures and safety considerations. Vehicular access will require high ground clearance with 4-wheel drive. Some improvement of roads may be necessary for access of equipment and materials to work sites. Contractor shall inspect these road areas during the on-site inspection at the pre-bid conference. Road improvements must be approved by the Commission prior to construction. The Contractor is responsible for investigating equipment and materials access to each site.
