Summary of Specifications:
The body armor shall be constructed of a newer technology material that is light weight, concealable under the standard duty uniform, and provide protection from specified hand-gun bullet penetration, and resultant trauma as set forth in the NIJ Standard 0101.04 (October 2000). Ballistic material shall be constructed of Zylon with Spectra, or an equivalent shield techology material. Body armor will, at minimum, meet NIJ Standard 0101.04 Threat Level II, the bidders must submit verification fo current NIJ Certification on the specific product.
