Description

Dallas County is seeking proposals from qualified service providers to establish a five-year service price agreement with two one-year renewal options for the provision of cremation services. The selected vendor will be responsible for the full range of cremation services, including but not limited to the receipt, preparation, and cremation of decedent remains, as well as the return of cremated remains to Dallas County. Transportation of decedent remains may be provided by Dallas County or the vendor, at the County’s discretion.

The Dallas County Office of the Medical Examiner (DCME) has been assigned the responsibility for facilitating the dignified final disposition of Dallas County decedents not claimed for disposition or those requiring disposition at public expense. Dallas County policy prescribes that all identified, unclaimed decedents be cremated (unidentified decedents are interred pursuant to State law). The selected vendor must be able to accommodate an average of 30 Dallas County cases per month in addition to their existing workload.

The goal of this RFP is to select a vendor who can provide high-quality cremation services that meet the needs of the County, with an emphasis on professionalism, reliability, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
