The intent of this Request for Bid is to secure a contract for the purpose of replacing
approximately 5,300 TWACS electric meters across the utility’s service area. Please see
Exhibit A for the City of Seguin’s Electric CCN. While a portion of the system has already
been upgraded to RF infrastructure, this initiative focuses on the complete transition of the
remaining endpoints to a unified Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) platform. The
City will be supplying the electric meters.
The upgrade is a foundational step toward enhancing:
• Billing accuracy
• Utility operations
• Remote meter data collection
• Future integration with the Outage Management System (OMS) scheduled for
deployment later this year
