The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Department of Water Services, Division of Waste Services (hereinafter, Metro) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to accept and process the recyclable materials sourced from Metro's recycling program for the purpose of selling the recyclables for beneficial reuse with the goal of diverting waste from landfills and avoiding the associated costs in an environmentally sound and legal manner. Metro's current contract for recycling and marketing of recyclables materials expires in November of 2025. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is being advertised with a long lead-time prior to commencement of services to allow potential Contractors ample time in case their proposal includes a substantial plan to build a new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) or to refurbish an existing facility.
