Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. SYSTEM a. The System MUST be able to scan for organic and inorganic contraband including but not limited to metal, plastic, wood, ceramics, liquids, gels, powders, paper, leather, drugs, weapons, precious stones, explosives, and electronics. b. System should alert the operator if potential contraband is detected during scan. c. System should be capable of performing scans in 7 seconds or less d. System MUST scan clothes and shoes without removal. e. System should scan prosthetics or artificial limbs. f. The System m a y e i t h e r b e s t a t i o n a r y ( i . e . , p e r s o n r e m a i n s s t a t i o n a r y d u r i n g s c a n ) o r u s e a c o n v e y o r / s l i d e . I f t h e S y s t e m u s e s a c o n v e y o r / s l i d e , t h e n S y s t e m MUST be equipped with at least two (2) emergency stop buttons with one (1) button on the System and one (1) button on the operator workstation. g. If the System uses a conveyor/slide, then the System should include one (1) or more safety hand rails attached to the platform to aid the person being scanned. h. System MUST include an operator workstation. i. System should have a weight capacity of at least 500 pounds. j. System should be constructed of durable rugged materials. 2. SERVICES REQUIREMENTS a. Services must be provided by the System manufacturer or an authorized service provider. b. Services must include delivery, set-up, installation, calibration, configuration and training for a fully functional turnkey digital body scanning System. c. Services must include all permits and or certifications required by all appropriate regulatory agencies for the work to be performed and the System to be installed. Vendors must aid in the preparation of and facilitate submittal of required compliance filings, renewals, etc. d. Vendor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements for protecting the safety of their employees, County staff, building occupants and the environment. e. Any solutions that may require modification to the installation location must be reviewed and approved by the Shelby County Division of Corrections. f. Services must include all cleanup and removal of debris and packaging materials.
