Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State is seeking interpreting services as described below as mandatory requirements for contractors submitting applications: • ASL Interpreters must be qualified or certified Deaf Interpreters (DI – Deaf Interpreter, CDI – Certified Deaf Interpreter) or individuals who are certified as ASL interpreters. Certified interpreters must be currently in good standing with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). o Certification must be up to date and the applicant must have the ability to provide verification of certification. • Interpreters must have both expressive and receptive sign language skills appropriate government agency/business settings and academic settings, with the ability to voice for all levels from young deaf students up to Ph. D. level. • Cued Speech interpreters must be qualified and have a 4.0 or higher on the EIPA-Cued Speech or a passing score on The Cued Language Transliterator National Certification Examination (CLTNCE).
