Specifications include, but are not limited to: The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes. CARTER, GREENE, HAMBLEN, HANCOCK, HAWKINS, JEFFERSON, JOHNSON, KNOX, MONROE, SULLIVAN, UNICOI, AND WASHINGTON counties. It will also include the installation of new snowplowable pavement marker castings with reflectors where any snowplowable pavement markers are found to be missing. Existing reflectors shall be removed from their castings by a method approved by the manufacturer which will not damage the casting. Dirt, dust, oil, grease, rust, moisture or any foreign matter (including damaged reflectors or parts thereof) which will impair adhesion of the new reflector to the casting shall be removed from the casting by an abrasive method capable of exposing at least 90 percent bare metal in the recessed reflector attachment area. The attachment area shall be free of any waste material prior to insertion of the new reflector.
