Nashville Public Library (NPL) offers collection access and discovery through our open source Discovery Layer, Aspen, to both patrons of the public library and Metro Nashville Public Schools students and staff. NPL is self-hosted. While we have expertise on staff, we would like a development and support partner to augment our efforts and potentially build some more complex functionality. Firm selected shall provide online consultation and advice about Aspen software, mainly regarding building new functionality, fixing bugs, coding, etc. Company shall employ developers with expertise equal to or surpassing that of our own on-staff developer, who had 334 commits to the Aspen code in 2024. Highly prefer a firm that has a variety of contact methods: ticketing system, scheduled meetups, customer round tables, and ad hoc consultations. Requirements: * Experts at said company shall be available for online consultation and advice, mainly about building new functionality and coding. Offeror must describe methods of communication available to customers, including what methods could be used to contact offeror for targeted, immediate updates that may be needed. * Company shall have some sort of ticketing system or project management tool to track development requests and bugs and work on them. System shall be visible to clients. Name system and describe customer access. Offeror must advise if the system: * Allows customers to add tickets * Allows customers to update tickets * Allows customer to prioritize development requests * Offeror must be able to describe billing process and invoice frequency. * Company shall employ at least 1 person with a minimum of 500 commits to the Aspen code within the past 3 years. Name employees and describe their work with Aspen. * Company shall employ at least 1 person who has worked on integrating/integrated a third-party entity with Aspen (e.g., a payment processor, an ILS, an ebook vendor, etc.). Name person and describe integration. * Company shall support other Aspen-using libraries of a comparable size to NPL. Offeror must list three customer libraries.
