1. Assess the existing urban tree canopy coverage across Shelby County. 2. Identify and map priority plantable spaces to support future tree planting initiatives. 3. Provide processed GIS data for use by the Office of Sustainability and Resilience and which must be able to be shared with the Tennessee Division of Forestry’s Urban and Community Forestry Program. 4. Deliver a detailed and accessible report that can be shared with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public. 5. Integrate considerations of urban heat islands, flooding risks, and economically disadvantaged areas to enhance decision-making. 6. Break down findings into city boundaries within Shelby County to identify areas of high priority for canopy restoration, preservation, and growth
