Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Colorado Springs is a growing urban area along the Front Range of Colorado. The City Council of the City of Colorado Springs currently governs, funds, and operates a public transit system for the City and nearby suburban areas external to the City proper in a metropolitan area of over 700,000 people in Colorado. The service is branded as ‘Mountain Metropolitan Transit. This transit operation provided over 3.8 million one-way public transit trips in the Colorado Springs Metropolitan area in 2008 with the services of: • local fixed-route buses • associated ADA Paratransit buses • limited express bus services • vanpool vans • carpool matching, and • other services
