The purpose of this solicitation is to provide "point-to-point" transportation services for individuals at the direction of Knox County Schools. Knox County Schools is hereinafter referred to as KCS. This Contract is not limited to those transportation services specifically to and from school on a scheduled instructional day and may be used to provide services to any program associated with KCS. Instructional days are determined by the Board of Education and published on the KCS web page (www.knoxschools.org) and are subject to change. It shall be the responsibility of the vendor to verify all instructional days. These transportation services, for the most part, are within the boundaries of Knox County. KCS currently utilizes approximately forty (40) vehicles across three separate Contractors to transport approximately five hundred students each instructional day, typically between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Mileage varies by route but is often between fifty (50) and one hundred fifty (150) miles a day.
