Specifications include, but are not limited to: Preventative Maintenance Specifications for ice rink refrigeration system Technicians must be certifiedby R.E.T.A (Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association) as industrial refrigeration operators.Contractor must be able to provide 24 hour, 7 days per week, on-call service within 2 hours of call, in caseof emergencies. Scope of Planned Work Quarterly: Walk- through inspection of chiller room andcondenser to ensure proper operation Check belts and tighten, if needed. Check and date mark brine/glycolreservoir levels Check ammonia level Pull brine/glycol samples and test for proper levels of corrosioninhibitors Inspect condenser nozzles and mist eliminators Document all service and recommendations inwriting Annually (in addition to quarterly work): Condenser: Clean mist eliminators Clean spray nozzlesEmpty, clean and refill water sump Grease fan motors and shaft bearings Inspect over-all condition anddocument with any recommendations Start up and ensure proper operation Provide Sportsplex/Parks withdocumentation of all service Compressors (3): Change oil and filter. Send samples for analysis Replacebelts and re-align Test and calibrate control switches and physical safeties with nitrogen Clean oil returnfloat Open and inspect oil cooler, clean if needed Check oil sump heater for proper operation Inspect over-all conditions and document recommendations Run and verify proper operation, document operationconditions Document all service System: Test and calibrate ammonia detection and alarm Test and verifyproper operation on emergency ventilation Test and verify E-stops for proper operation Thoroughly check all electrical connections in control cabinet Grease all pumps, fans, motors where applicable Test samples from all brine circuits (Cold floor and warm floor) also snow melt circuit, which is glycol. Proper corrosion inhibiters to be added, if needed Provide Sportsplex/Parks with documentation of all service and findings
