Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Maine Commission for Community Service solicits proposals to support future new AmeriCorps program applicants as they undertake the planning required to move a sound program concept through development to the point it is ready for implementation. Planning Grant funds may not be used to support AmeriCorps members or supplement operations of an existing program. AmeriCorps is a national service program, which engages Americans of all ages and backgrounds in team-based community service to meet critical local needs. Funding priorities in this competition are identified in the RFP document and there is a special focus on proposals from Aroostook, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Oxford, Penobscot, Waldo, or Washington counties.
