1. Mowing for control of vegetation - All grass clippings are to be kept out of the bed areas to keep mulch looking as fresh as possible and are either mulched up to keep out of sight or left on turf areas. - The Contractor shall mow as close as possible to all fixed objects. Hand trimming is required atop earth berms and within all rip rap areas. 2. Trimming - Weed eater trimming around all buildings, walls, benches, trees, signs, or other obstacles shall be done with each mowing. No scalping will be done in order to keep turf even, professional, and to prevent weed growth promotion. In addition, grass will be kept out of roadways, off of cars and sidewalks. No girdling of trees will be acceptable. 3. Edging - Sidewalks shall be edged every week along with the mowing and weed eating to promote a professional look and to ensure that there is not any grass approaching the sidewalks, beds, or driveways. Edging includes ALL curbs and walkways. A dedicated edging tool is to be used and using a weed eater to edge will not be acceptable. 4. Blowing - The grounds will be blown weekly after each mowing has been completed to ensure all grass clippings are cleaned up for a clean and professional appearance. 5. Litter pickup - All areas are to be inspected prior to mowing for the removal of objects that could pose danger to individuals/structures in the vicinity of the mower (rocks, sticks, etc.). For the purpose of this bid, litter is defined as trash and garbage of the following type: Paper, plastic, bottles, cans, wood, tires or portions of tires, metal products, etc. 6. Weed Control/Spray - Playground mulch, walkways, curblines are to be inspected for weeds and removed or sprayed accordingly, ensuring all mulch/concrete/paved areas are free from weeds. No other vegetation shall be damaged through this process. Weeds in the curbs will be maintained from the landscaper from Boone St. to Weigel’s. Weeds in the curb from Boone St. to Persimmon Ridge will be maintained by the mowing contractor.
