4.1 INMATE MATTRESSES: The following lists the minimum specifications required for Inmate Mattresses. Bidders must bid as specified or equal. Knox County requests that vendors bid from current inventory to expedite the acquisition of the item(s), if possible. Knox County understands the mattresses may have to be ordered if not available from current inventory. 4.2 MATTRESS MATERIALS: All materials must include: 4.2.1 Dimensional Stability – Warranty against cracking/peeling; 4.2.2 Flame Retardant; 4.2.3 Odor-Resistant; 4.2.4 Antimicrobial properties built in to protect the product; 4.2.5 Virus Barrier; 4.2.6 Moisture Vapor Permeable; 4.2.7 Washable; 4.2.8 Abrasion Resistant; 4.2.9 Cover is hypoallergenic – latex free; 4.3 MATTRESS CONSTRUCTION: All materials must include: 4.3.1 100% Sealed Seams, absolutely no stitching; 4.3.2 Breathable vent must resist water, oil, urine, blood, head lice, bed bugs; 4.3.3 Integrated Pillow constructed of solid fiber – zero loose fill pillow batting; 4.3.4 Seam strength average breaking force 116 lbf; 4.3.5 Core must be full overall length of the mattress, including head rest area, 100% densified polyester, Indura Performance Fiber™ minimum of 11 oz/sq. ft. density; 4.3.6 Core contains no hazardous chemical byproducts – 100% recyclable “green”; 4.3.7 Core is hypoallergenic – latex free; 4.3.8 Thickness to be 4 inches, 25”W x 75”L; 4.3.9 Completed mattress to contain no manufacturing byproduct such as polypropylene film, silk film, or other foreign material detrimental to a secure area; 4.3.10 Cover/Outer layer must hold up and warrantied against damage from disinfectant cleaning;
