The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is soliciting quotes from qualified contractors for the provision of Guard Rail Installations. Vendor shall be responsible for providing all labor, tools, equipment, transportation, traffic control, appurtenances, and materials, not specifically stated to be furnished by Metro, necessary for the removal, replacement, installation, and repair of guardrail in Davidson County. Projects will be based on estimated time and materials required to complete the work and billing for those time and materials actually used and supported by documentation with the pay applications. Purchases shall be made on an as-needed basis via Purchase Order. No purchase is guaranteed, and no work shall be performed until receipt of Metroissued Purchase Order. Specification for Guardrails; All work shall be done in accordance with the latest edition of MUTCD, the currently approved TDOT Standard Drawings for safety appurtenances, manufacturer's shop drawings, the latest edition of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction with all its supplements and modifications of the current Special Provisions, or Metro Standard Drawings/Details and Specifications. All guardrail installations shall coincide with TDOT Guardrail Standards S-PL-1 Safety Plan at Roadside Hazards, latest edition. Earth pads installed in conjunction with tangential energy absorbing guardrail terminals shall be constructed per Standard Drawings SGRT-2P and S-GRT-2R or as directed by the Engineer. Materials used in the replacement or repair of damaged guardrail shall conform to the requirements of Section 909 of the Standard Specifications, latest edition. Materials used to construct earth pads for tangential energy absorbing guardrail terminals shall conform to the requirements of Sections 303 and 903.05 of the Standard Specifications, latest edition. Where there is conflict between TDOT standard drawings and specifications and NDOT technical details and specifications, NDOT technical details and specifications shall govern.
