Specifications include, but are not limited to: Description of MCS. The mission of MCS is to prepare all children to be successful citizens and workers in the 21st century. This includes educating them to read with comprehension, write clearly, compute accurately, think, reason and use information to solve problems. MCS is the largest public school system in the MCS of Tennessee and the 21st largest school system in the nation. It serves approximately 108,000 students in its 187 schools, ranging from Pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. MCS owns approximately 191 facilities. Created as a special school district by a private act of the Tennessee General Assembly in 1869, MCS employs 16,500 people, including approximately 8,000 teachers, making it the second largest employer in the City of Memphis. In this phase, the Consultant will assist MCS in selecting the ERP solution that best meets MCS’ needs, by assisting MCS in: Defining specific software and hardware requirements for an ERP system; Defining an approach for addressing business process change within the ERP implementation; Developing an RFP for an ERP system; Evaluating and selecting software; Conducting contract negotiations; Managing the Requirements Definition/Software Selection Phase of the ERP Project; and Developing a detailed project plan for the implementation phase of the project and a corresponding cost estimate to complete the implementation.
