Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. A planning level bat survey employing mist-nets as the primary survey method and acoustic monitoring as a supportive method, identifying bat species present, their use of the installation, and the habitats they are using. As the primary survey method, mist-netting efforts must meet the requirements of the current USFWS Indiana bat & northern long-eared bat survey guidelines. 2. Any federally listed, proposed, or species being evaluated for listing by USFWS (Indiana bat, northern long-eared bat, gray bat, tri-colored bat, and little brown bat) that are captured will be radioed and tracked to identify their use of the site, day and night roosts, maternity colony locations, etc. Past experience indicates that aerial support for tracking will be needed. Please see Section 4.4.3 for more detail. 3. Any located roost sites will be flagged, mapped using GPS coordinates, have appropriate habitat variables measured, and have emergence counts conducted. 4. Threatened and endangered bat species, as well as little brown bats and tri-colored bats, will be measured using appropriate biometric variables, documented, and photographed.
