Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive, customer friendly system that includes state-ofthe-art tools for operating and managing a regional rideshare management program, web-based rideshare matching-pool formation, customized marketing campaigns, fleet management and administrative functions in accordance with the specific scope of work as outlined in section II below. A more detailed description of Scope is found in Section II of the RFP. The Administration of the RTA Rideshare Administration Contract will be for a term of one year beginning on or around July 1, 2012 and may be extended for an additional four (4) one (1) year terms. Proposers shall submit cost for each of the five (5) years. Non-profit and government discounts should be noted. These instructions provide detailed legal and technical requirements for the acquisition of these services. Section II, Scope of Services, provides a more detailed description of the legal requirements. 2. OVERVIEW The Regional Transportation Authority, hereinafter RTA, is a nine-county regional agency created by the state statue in 1988 (TCA 54-9-101 through 106) to plan and develop a Regional Transit System. The nine member counties of the RTA are: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson. The city and county mayors of the member counties, the Commissioner of Tennessee Department of Transportation, and a Governors Appointee representing each member county comprise the RTA board. A management team, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Paul Ballard of the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority, oversees the day-to-day operations. The RTA currently facilitates a variety of Rideshare Programs, including Carpooling, Vanpooling, Commuter Bus Service, and the Regions Commuter Rail Service. RTA is the designated recipient of funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), an agency of the United States DOT.
