Specifications include, but are not limited to: Purchasing Allegion and Avigilon Equipment and Products (hardware and software) to complete the district’s existing access control plan. Currently (9) of the existing (48) sites have recently been installed with the district’s access control standards (Door hardware = Allegion) and (Access controls = Avigilon). These products were chosen by the district because of the features, quality and open standard benefits they provide the district. Rutherford County Board of Education has over the last couple of years, developed a district plan for access controls, that has included site assessments and the identification of strategic doors that are to be controlled by site. This project started by the district’s decision to replace its previous proprietary access system. The district has made an investment in an open system and provided the standards and frame work by which all new installations will follow.
