The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is
publishing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to establish or expand current Transition Programs for
Students with Disabilities in secondary education programs between ages 18 and 21. The intent
for this RFP is after completion of programming, secondary students with disabilities will enter
their adult lives capable of self-advocacy with sufficient experience to make choices about work
and career, being appropriately supported and living as independently as possible. This RFP will
solicit proposals from South Dakota School Districts and/or Educational Cooperatives who want
to establish or expand current Transition Programs.
