Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Human Services offers emerging technology to meet the functional equivalent telecommunication needs of individuals with disabilities served through the TED and TAD programs by offering iOS® devices specifically iPad® and iPhones® and associated services. The successful contractor will be responsible for providing an all-inclusive proposal in which to purchase smartphones and tablets, provide a management component for those devices and provide training to staff that provide direct services to individuals that receive devices through the TED and TAD programs. Please give a detailed description of how the following will be completed: 3.1 Purchasing & Service Deliverables The Department intends to offer iPads® and iPhones® through the TED and TAD programs. The vendor’s proposal must provide a full list of devices available. The proposal must also provide information on how the following deliverable services will be completed. The response should include as much information as possible to educate the State on the service experience. Examples of information to be included: over-all process, where the service will be performed, duration to perform the service, who will be performing the service if applicable and other relevant information. Method the State will utilize for ordering of devices. Duration of time from when the device is ordered to when it is shipped. Method of correspondence with the state pertaining to orders. Method of invoicing. Method of tracking devices. Method of packaging devices for shipment. Follow up with the state after the device is delivered. Proposal must also identify process for maintenance of devices that are returned to the program and must include the following: Method for cleaning returned devices of personal information. Cleaning and preparing device for re-distribution. Duration of time from when the device is returned for maintenance until it is ready to be redistributed through the program. 3.2 Program Identification Devices provided through the program will be loaner devices for up to three years and then becomes the property of the individual to whom the equipment was loaned. In order to identify devices as property of the State of South Dakota, the Department requires devices are permanently inscribed or identified. Proposals must identify how this will be done.
