Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals to assist the Nutrition & Physical Activity program and Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (OCDPHP) in the Department of Health (DOH) to decrease the incidence of overweight, obesity, and other chronic diseases through evidence-based interventions. The successful applicant will present innovative ideas that utilize proven strategies to change the health behaviors of all South Dakotans that affect chronic disease. They will also be able to demonstrate an ability to work with staff on current worksite wellness priorities. The successful application must furnish one designation staff person to provide the coordination and leadership of worksite wellness efforts statewide that include recruiting worksites and promoting implementation of science-based strategies that support improved health and well-being of employees, providing technical assistance to worksites implementing science-based interventions, organizing a statewide training providing education and resources to work site professionals, and marketing and distribution of worksite wellness resources.
