South Dakota State University is soliciting Statements of Interest from firms capable of providing professional architectural and engineering design services for the project referenced above. The design services for this project encompass program verification, planning, design, construction documentation, bidding, and construction administration. The new facility will create an on-campus venue for soccer competitions and provide amenities to support soccer and other outdoor sports that have competition venues near the proposed project site. The project will include a new competition field, grandstands, concessions, ticketing facilities, locker rooms, public restrooms, press boxes, storage, and other service areas. The on-campus location will create an improved experience for student-athletes and spectators. The project will also enhance the pedestrian experience on Jackrabbit Avenue, a heavily traveled street for events hosted on campus.The project involves developing the site located on the northeast corner of the Jackrabbit Avenue and North Campus Drive intersection. The new development will support existing baseball and softball facilities in addition to women’s soccer. The pedestrian experience on Jackrabbit Avenue will be improved with new sidewalks and accessible crosswalks. The new soccer competition field will be oriented north-south with grandstands and press boxes along Jackrabbit Avenue.The grandstands will include open bleacher seating for approximately 750 spectators. A new support facility will be located along the north side of the field, situated in the shelter belt located on the south side of Erv Huether Field. The new conditioned building will connect to existing utilities for power, water, and sanitary sewer. The support facility will include approximately4,500 GSF of conditioned space.
