The South Dakota Board of Pharmacy (SDBOP) is seeking vendor proposals to replace the Board’s current licensure, regulation, inspection, and investigation documentation system with a commercially available system. The SDBOP is also seeking to develop and maintain the website for SDBOP. The SDBOP is the licensing and regulatory agency for 2 healthcare business professions: pharmacies and wholesale distributors. The agency also has 3 person types that are licensed or registered, which include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy interns. The agency licenses these businesses and persons within and outside of South Dakota (see list in Background Section 3.1). SDBOP functions include the issuance of licenses and registrations, and all that is entailed within these noted processes, plus the renewal and maintenance of these licenses and registrations. Additional SDBOP functions include the inspection of pharmacies and wholesale distributors and the investigation of complaints regarding licensees.
