The Walworth County Commissioners, Selby, South Dakota, along with HKG Architects of Aberdeen are requesting proposals for Construction Manager at Risk Services with Guaranteed Maximum Price (CM@R) for the construction of the 48-Bed Adult Detention Center. The New Detention Center will consist of 18 inmate cells, containing 36 beds and 2 work release cells containing 12 beds. There will be 5 Adult holding cells and 4 Juvenile holding cells. Other areas include: Sally Port, assembly kitchen, medical exam, changing room, dirty bullpen, laundry, indoor recreation, Sheriffs and Jail Administration area, public and inmate visitation, multi-purpose/break room along with required mechanical, teledata, interview, security, toilets and lobby area. Construction is precast concrete exterior walls with CMU block walls at interior cells with steel studs and gypsum drywall finished surface at office areas. All jail cell doors and detention area doors to be high security as provided by Trussbilt of Huron, South Dakota. The mechanical system will be high efficiency boiler and air conditioning. Electrical system as well as security, monitoring and access system to be high security meeting all requirements of the American Correctional Association current standards.
