Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide quality course materials at the best possible price is still foremost in mind. Elements of a flat-fee model servicing the four universities will include, but will not be limited to, the following: Ability to utilize all required course material adoptions that are available in a digital format. Ability to work with publishers, on behalf of the campuses, to digitize titles of adoptions that are presently in a physical textbook format. Ability to support the academic mission of each campus by providing efficient and effective course materials services to student and faculty, including online adoptions for faculty and physical course materials buyback services for students. Ability to create and implement effective strategies to reduce the cost of course materials to campus students by negotiating publisher discounts, supporting campuses’ OER programs, identifying and leveraging existing Library resources, minimizing shipping costs, and providing a wide selection of course materials formats. Ability to develop a proactive course materials strategy that will allow the campuses to effectively offer competitive pricing to students in the challenging course materials environment. Ability to provide comprehensive course materials services to support all university academic programs. Ability to provide excellent customer service, including minimizing delivery time for physical books, and ensuring efficient online processing of all optouts and transactions. Ability to utilize state-of-the-art technology and emerging technologies for interfacing with the BOR student information system (SIS), Banner Student, for web-based course materials operations (i.e. web enabled faculty adoption system, registration integration).
