This project is adjacent to the recently awarded National Guard (NG) Vehicle Maintenance Shop (VMS) – Sturgis project. The two projects will create a single complex for the NG in Sturgis. Sturgis Armory Add/Alt project will require direct integration of utilities, access roads, parking, motor vehicle storage, and other project aspects with the NG VMS – Sturgis project. The primary facility will include renovation of 4,300 SF of existing administrative, classroom, and unit supply spaces along with an addition of 10,000 SF featuring an auditorium, restroom/locker room, and administrative spaces. Supporting facilities and infrastructure will include utilities, access road, paved parking, sidewalks, security lighting, government vehicle parking, refuse collection facility, security fencing, landscaping, and monument facility sign. Key features of the facility shall include reliable low maintenance systems, with ease of access to facility infrastructure, renewable energy integration, building automation system, and IT infrastructure. This project is required to meet or exceed the requirements of US Green Building Council LEED Silver Certification and will include full building Commissioning.
