Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City is seeking responses from prospective Contractors who will accept responsibility for the implementation of cable wiring to interconnect peripherals, computer systems and voice stations for voice/data communications in all City sites. Technicians will connect all twisted pair cabling using quality connectors approved by the City and rated for the specific cable type in each location. The voice/data cabling system shall meet the requirements of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers-802.3-Category-5e-Unshielded Twisted Pair Standard (IEEE-802.3- Category-5e-UTP standard) or better and all power and data cabling installation will follow NEC except where other authorities or codes impose more stringent requirements or characteristics proposed by Electronic Industries Alliance/Telecommunications Industry Association Standards (EIA/TIA 568 standards), as amended. Furthermore, all installations shall meet or exceed all applicable local, state and federal codes, ordinances and regulations. Successful Contractors will be expected to provide materials needed on an expedited basis for installations and/or repairs. All materials used must be standard equipment that has been pre-approved by the City. Any materials used for any information technology service or support be pre-approved by the Information Technology Department (IT) before installing. Contractors will be reimbursed for these expenses. The City reserves the right to purchase its own equipment and supplies, to include, but not limited to, cable, jacks, racks, etc.
