Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Veterinary Services Veterinarian services may include, but is not limited to, examining shelter animals, diagnosing and treating sick/isolated or injured animals, providing guidance to staff on follow-up treatment, diet and behavioral issues. Weekly services may include approximately 40 spay/neuter surgeries, medical exams of all shelter animals, lab work and other surgeries as needed (ex: amputation, FHO, hernia, inverted eye lid, tooth removal). Minimum work hours include but not limited to four hours a day, Monday- Friday and will be available on-call for emergent situations/cases. The Contractor must provide coverage for times when the Contractor cannot be present. The average number of animals at the ACAS is 180/day. 2. Foster Veterinary Services Foster Veterinary Services may include, but is not limited to; examining foster animals, diagnosing and treating sick or injured foster animals, scheduling puppy immunizations, recommendation and provision of individual medication schedules that accommodate the Foster family and spay/neuter animals that are involved in the Foster to Adopt program.
