Specifications include, but are not limited to: This requirement is for mechanical sweeping service to clean curb and gutters, bridges and paved medians on Interstate, Primary, and Secondary highway routes. The State Primary system shall include roads designated by SC or US numbers. The State Secondary system shall include roads designated by S numbers. In conducting mechanical sweeping services, the contractor shall not create excessive airborne dust or other particulates. The contractor shall use water spray equipment in accordance with industry standards, to prevent excessive airborne dust or other particulates. The contractor shall use a mechanical road sweeper, or equivalent equipment providing the same level of performance to remove the accumulation of debris such as sand, glass, leaves, bark, nuts, berries, wood, stones, gravel, dirt, motor vehicle fragments, tires, remains of truck spillage, trash, litter, etc. All curb and gutter shall be cleaned and free of all accumulated debris immediately after the sweeping operation progresses through that specific location or portion thereof.
