Specifications include, but are not limited to: The South Carolina Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking bids for mechanical sweeping for roads in Lancaster County District 4. The contractor will perform mechanical sweeping on Primary and Secondary roads within these designated counties consisting of curb and gutter, bridges, and raised medians, in accordance with specifications herein. The estimated combined linear footage is outlined in the table below. All mechanical sweeping activities and associated activities described herein shall include all materials, labor, equipment, traffic control and other incidental items. Each mechanical sweeping activity (i.e., each line item) is independent and SCDOT may request to have one or more items start on the same date and/or be performed at the same time. The contractor shall remove all accumulation of debris to include but not limited to sand, glass, paper, cans, leaves, bark, nuts, berries, wood, stones, gravel, dirt, motor vehicle fragments, tires remains of truck spillage trash, litter, etc. All areas shall be cleaned and free of all accumulated debris. All debris resulting from the work shall be hauled off, all fees and charges associated with the disposal shall be at the contractor expense. Mechanical sweeping cycle will be broken down into four (4) calendar quarters. The calendar quarters will consist of, Cycle one (January 1 to March 31), Cycle two (April 1 to June 30), Cycle three (July 1 to September 30) and Cycle four (October 1 to December 31). An initial sweep of all roads will be completed upon issuance of contract (Cycle 1, 2, 3 or 4). The initial sweep of all roads will be complete within 45 working days of issuance of purchase order. Working days are designed from 7:00 pm Sunday through 6:00 am Friday. All sweeping must be accomplished between the hours of 7:00 pm and 6:00 am except on state holidays, unless otherwise directed by the Resident Maintenance Engineer.
