Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Paint and Thermoplastic Removal includes all supplies, equipment and labor necessary to remove paint and markings from the roadway by grinding.2.Long Line thermoplastic Installation includes all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install new or refresh old 4” pavement lines, including both white and yellow markings. Road segments shorter than ½ mile will be considered a short line.3.Skip Lines –4” Skip lines will be paid by the total length of the segment to be marked, including both the skip lines and the lengths between skip lines. Skip lines will be paid as either a long line or short line installation depending on the road segment length.4.Hand Placed Thermoplastic Installation –Shall include all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install new or refresh old pavementmarkings. This includes turn arrows (1, 2 and 3 direction), railroad crossing symbols, stop bars, gores, cross walks and word messages such as “ONLY” and “STOP AHEAD”.5.Traffic control shall be in accordance with the 2009 MUTCD, https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/and SCDOT Standard Drawings https://www.scdot.org/business/standard-drawings.aspxand Hourly Restrictions for Lance Closures https://www.scdot.org/business/workzone-traffic-control.aspx.6.At a minimum, all workers shall wear a shirt with factory hemmed sleeves, long pants, work appropriate closed toed shoes and SCDOT approved safety vests and hardhats at all times.7.The contractor shall be responsible for safety and training of their employees. All equipment willbe operated safely per manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with all applicable codes, laws and ordinances. Contractor shall ensure all equipment operators are qualified to perform all job duties safely including operation of mechanical equipment.
