Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Environmental Range Assessment and delineation of lead-impacted soils and sediments. B. Mobilization, site and plan preparations, clearing and grubbing {as needed). C. Sediment controls around berm drains to limit further spread of contamination. D. Excavation of lead-impacted soils from the range backstop berms, apron areas, range floor and overshot areas. E. Physical separation of lead bullets and bullet fragments greater than 2mm from range soils by screening or equivalent process. F. Covering of any and All Screened Material and Cut Face Stockpiles or screened piles must be covered with water impenetrable tarpaulins when not in operation and during all rain events. It is anticipated that remaining screened clay residual will be stabilized and mixed with alternate materials and later re-incorporated into the backstop. Cut Faces of the backstop shall be covered with a non-woven geotextile material suitable for soil separation and to prevent erosion. The geotextile material will be about 8 oz/square yard and the final specification of the material shall be approved by the engineer prior to placement. G. Lead material separated on site shall be separated and placed in containers suitable for the weight upon multiple lifts on and off trucks.
